WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s inaugural committee says it will donate nearly $225,000 to three charities.

The money was left over from fundraising.

A snowstorm forced the committee to cancel Christie’s $500-a-head inaugural gala that had been planned for Ellis Island.

Save Ellis Island, The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark and New Jersey Heroes will each receive $75,000.
