BEND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a Bend, Ore., High School student died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the presence of classmates.

KTVZ reports (https://is.gd/X7NbHP ) that Bend Police Chief Jim Porter says the student brought the gun onto campus and fired the fatal shot Friday in a modular classroom. No one else was injured.

Police did not identify the student or provide a gender or age.

The Bend-La Pine School District says emergency responders came to the school just after noon Friday when a caller reported the campus suicide.

The central Oregon school was locked down for more than two hours before students were released. The district says a crisis team is helping students.

All after-school activities were cancelled.
