Troubled actor Tom Sizemore admitted during a HuffPost Live appearance that he made up his comments that were captured on tape — and recently released — in which he claimed former President Bill Clinton and actress Elizabeth Hurley engaged in a long-running sexual affair.

Mr. Sizemore also said during the interview that he made up the claims because of his drug use, the New York Daily News reported.

The tape surfaced on Radar Online and quickly sent shockwaves through the media, fueled in part by published photos of the two — Mr. Clinton and Ms. Hurley — in various settings, seated in at least one in comfortable closeness.

On the tape, Mr. Sizemore was reportedly heard explaining to two unidentified individuals how he helped Mr. Clinton during a White House event set up a tryst with Ms. Hurley. At one point on the tape, Mr. Sizemore said Mr. Clinton demanded Ms. Hurley’s telephone number with harsh language: “Give it to me you dumb [expletive]. I’m the commander-in-chief of the United States of America,” the New York Daily News reported.

Mr. Sizemore then went on to say on the tape that he provided the number, and Mr. Clinton quickly flew Ms. Hurley from California to the White House — the alleged beginning of a yearlong affair. Ms. Hurley, meanwhile, denied the affair and called Mr. Sizemore’s accusations a “yawn,” the Daily Mail reported.

Turns out, Ms. Hurley was telling the truth.

On HuffPost Live, Mr. Sizemore said: “I’ve never met former President Clinton. I’ve never known him to know Ms. Hurley. I’m not denying that I said these things. … I don’t remember saying these things. My perceptions were not the greatest.”

He then went on to speak of his former drug use and the fog he was living in when he claims the tape was made, the New York Daily News reported. He also said he’s been drug-free since 2009.
