ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate is refusing to remove a picture from his advertisements after an Anchorage Assembly member complained she didn’t authorize use of her image.
KTUU reports (https://is.gd/HPcDKd) the complaint is over a picture taken at the 2010 Choose Respect rally. It shows candidate Dan Sullivan, when he was a member of Gov. Sean Parnell’s cabinet, marching next to Elvi Gray-Jackson behind the Choose Respect banner.
Gray-Jackson has asked that the ads be removed since they imply she supports Sullivan, when in fact, she says she doesn’t support Sullivan’s stances or his candidacy.
Sullivan’s spokesman, Mike Anderson, says the photo won’t be removed. He says Sullivan was honored to have marched with Republicans and Democrats in the bipartisan Choose Respect Initiative.
