The priest at the heart of a chilling tale of demonic possession that struck an Indiana mother and her three children has now signed a movie deal.
The Rev. Michael Maginot of St. Stephen, Martyr parish in Merrillville — who performed exorcisms on the family members — didn’t disclose any specifics of his contract. But Evergreen Media Holdings Executive Chairman Tony DeRosa-Grund called it a “standard deal,” The Indianapolis Star reported. Mr. DeRosa-Grund is famous for producing the $318 million grossing movie, “The Conjuring.”
His new movie will focus on the story of Latoya Ammons and her three children, and their reported possession of demons. Her tale is especially significant because social services workers who responded to her home, as well as a local sheriff, all said they found evidence the children were possessed.
Mr. Maginot said he signed a deal with Mr. DeRosa-Grund because he felt confident the producer wouldn’t sensationalize the story, The Indianapolis Star reported.
“The story is good as it is,” he said, in the newspaper. “You don’t need to go crazy with it.”
