RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The top jobs adviser to North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory is stepping down, the fourth person to leave the administration in the last five weeks.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports (https://bit.ly/1b6Glr9) Tony Almeida is leaving Friday as the governor’s senior adviser for jobs and the economy, saying he’s retiring to spend more time with his family, including his ill mother.

Almeida’s deputy, Blannie Cheng, left the McCrory administration on Dec. 31. She recently started her own consulting firm in Raleigh.

Jonathan Felts, another senior adviser, left the governor’s office in January to take a job with a Raleigh public affairs firm.

Ricky Diaz, communications chief at the Department of Health and Human Services at the start of the year, also left to work at a Washington-based political firm.
