NEW YORK (AP) - A prize-winning journalist who has reported extensively on Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is writing a book about him.
Matt Katz has a deal with Threshold Editions, a conservative imprint of Simon & Schuster. The publisher announced Thursday the currently untitled Christie biography is scheduled for spring 2015.
Katz covered Christie while a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he created the popular blog The Christie Chronicles. He does it now for WNYC radio and New Jersey Public Radio.
The brash Christie has been a national figure and potential presidential candidate. He’s been caught up recently in a scandal related to a traffic-blocking operation near the George Washington Bridge that caused massive backups, apparently for political retribution. Christie has denied any involvement and has called his staff’s behavior “stupid.”
