UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - The Chicago blackhawks have acquired forwards Peter Regin and Pierre-Marc Bouchard from the New York Islanders for a fourth-round pick in this June’s NHL draft.

The Islanders made the deal Thursday night after losing for the sixth time in seven games.

The 29-year-old Bouchard was a disappointment with four goals and five assists in 28 games for the Islanders. On Dec. 10, he was sent to Bridgeport of the AHL where he had six goals and 11 assists. Bouchard signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Islanders last summer.

A checking forward, Regin had two goals and five assists in 44 games for the Islanders. He joined the Islanders this year as a free agent after five seasons with Ottawa.

The defending Stanley Cup-champion Blackhawks said Bouchard would report to their AHL affiliate in Rockford while Regin would join the NHL club.
