ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia senior offensive tackle Mark Beard plans to transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility after graduating this summer.
An NCAA rule allows players to transfer without sitting out a year after completing graduating requirements.
Beard played in 26 games, including two starts, in his two seasons at Georgia following his transfer from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. He was a backup left tackle in 2013.
In a statement released by Georgia on Thursday night, coach Mark Rick said he wished the best for Beard in his final year of eligibility.
Beard is a native of Adamsville, Ala.
