HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Many Connecticut schools are opening late as cleanup continues from a storm that dumped snow, sleet and ice across the Northeast.

The National Weather Service warns that roads across the state may still be slippery Thursday morning because of black ice. State and local plow crews worked through the night.

Schools in Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury and Danbury are among those opening 90 minutes to two hours late Thursday.

The Metro-North Railroad is reporting normal service, while Bradley International Airport reports only one flight cancellation.

No power outages are reported.

The Weather Service says Wednesday’s storm dumped up to a foot of snow and sleet in parts of northern Connecticut, up to 10 inches in Fairfield County, 5 inches in New Haven and around 4 inches in the New London area.
