PHOENIX (AP) - State transportation officials want input from industry on a possible public-private partnership to build a new freeway in the Phoenix.
The Department of Transportation’s 20-page request for information is for the proposed South Mountain Freeway, a long-planned route awaiting environmental clearance.
The freeway would connect Interstate 10 on the southeast and western sides of the Phoenix area.
The department says it’s looking for comments on procurement methods and possible structures of a contemplated public-private partnership arrangement.
According to the department, the information will help it move forward on planning for the project and may result in a formal request for proposals.
The department plans a Feb. 27 forum for industry representatives.
