BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A man captured in Jackson County after a high speed pursuit last month has now been charged in a Biloxi slaying.

Detective Steve Schlicht says Michael Wilson of Biloxi was charged with murder Tuesday after police received the crime lab analysis of physical evidence.

Wilson is charged in the death of Carmen Dale Edwards, who died of blunt-force trauma. Edwards was found dead in his apartment Jan. 2.

Schlicht says Wilson was arrested Dec. 31 after leading police on a high-speed chase. Wilson was released on bond.

Wilson was taken into custody Jan. 8 on probation warrants involving convictions on burglary, auto theft and possession of a weapon by a felon. He had been held in the Harrison County jail since his arrest.

Schlicht says the investigation is ongoing.
