EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Detectives are investigating a tip that a Kalamazoo doctor missing for two months may have shown up at a Wal-Mart store near Battle Creek.
Thirty-year-old Teleka Patrick told some colleagues Dec. 5 she was going to Chicago to visit a relative but told another that she needed money and a ride to a nearby hotel. Police found her car in a ditch hours later along Interstate 94 in northern Indiana.
Kalamazoo County sheriff’s Detective Sgt. William Sparrow tells MLive.com (https://bit.ly/1nUoUwS ) that an employee at the Wal-Mart in Calhoun County’s Emmett Township reports seeing a woman who resembled Patrick near the store’s jewelry counter about 9 p.m. Saturday.
Sparrow says “it’s way too early to say” if the tip will pan out.
