An influential website that covers Hollywood news and the business of entertainment, TheWrap.com, has called on industry insiders and members of the movie-watching public to turn their backs on movie director Woody Allen.

TheWrap.com’s Richard Stellar — a self-proclaimed fan of Mr. Allen’s films — nonetheless said he can’t sit idly by and ignore Dylan Farrow’s sexual abuse allegations, Breitbart.com reported. Ms. Farrow has accused Mr. Allen of molesting her when she was a little girl, age 7.

He wrote, in a op-ed for the site: “A seven-year-old child’s innocence and life force was murdered by Woody, again allegedly, and we respond to that with more adulation and awards for a great filmmaker, and a twisted, decrepit human being. … Justice will come on the wings of revenge, and hopefully the industry will shun Woody and drive him further into his own isolated psyche that has become an odd trademark of his public persona and work.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Allen’s latest film, Blue Jasmine, has been released — and Mr. Stellar guessed that Ms. Farrow’s recent allegations will have a negative impact. The film, nonetheless, is up for three Oscars.

But he hopes the public won’t turn a blind eye to Ms. Farrow.

“It’s time to shun Woody Allen,” he wrote. “When you look the other way at the dark side of genius, you become culpable in the crime.”
