The FBI arrested more than 45 suspected pimps who traveled to the New York region to traffic women and girls, some as young as age 13, to Super Bowl sex buyers.

USA Today reported 16 teen girls between the ages of 13 and 17 were rescued from pimps in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Some of the youths had been reported missing by the families, agents said.

Another 50 women coerced into joining the sex-for-money Super Bowl ring were also rescued in the FBI operation, the agents said.

FBI officials said some of the arrested individuals had been players in an international sex trafficking operation, USA Today reported.
