NEW YORK (AP) - Mayor Bill de Blasio (dih BLAH’-zee-oh) is praising New York City’s resilience.

De Blasio said Wednesday that New York is “no stranger to adversity.” He says residents have “taken a series of storms in stride.”

Earlier, de Blasio said while shoveling his Brooklyn walk that the snow was very wet and heavy.

He suggested hiring a teenager to help.

That might take a while. His own son, Dante, was at school.
