DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - A new poll shows U.S. Reps. Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster facing serious challenges as the two Democrats seek re-election in New Hampshire.

In the 1st District, the WMUR Granite State Poll released Monday shows Republican Frank Guinta slightly ahead of Shea-Porter, who was elected in 2006, lost to Guinta in 2010 and regained the seat in 2012. In a matchup with Republican Dan Innis, Shea-Porter remains in the lead.

In the 2nd District, Kuster is slightly ahead of Republican Marilinda Garcia and about even with Gary Lambert. Kuster’s favorability rating remains low, however.

The telephone poll of 584 adults was conducted Jan. 21-26 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center and had a sampling margin of error of just under 6 percentage points in each district.
