President Obama’s agenda may be headed for trouble, given the results of a new poll that shows 56 percent of Americans believe his policies will fail.
The CNN/ORC poll stipulated that in January of 2013, only 39 percent of Americans believed his agenda would tank.
Still, Americans are, by and large, a hopeful bunch. Fully 58 percent say they hope Obama’s policies will succeed,” Breitbart.com reported, citing the poll. That’s significantly down, too. In January, 70 percent wished the presidential policies the best.
One more significant finding in the poll, conducted Jan. 31 through Feb. 2: Fifty percent of Americans disapprove of Mr. Obama’s job performance while only 45 percent approve.
“Leaving aside partisan demographics, Obama gets his biggest support from people who live in big cities, who give him a 56 percent approval rating,” said CNN polling director Keating Holland. “Three groups tie for the lowest rating for Obama in the current poll — rural Americans, senior citizens and whites. The president scores only a 36 percent [approval] rating among each of those groups.”
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
