President Obama may not be totally sure what happened in Benghazi, or with the IRS targeting of tea party groups. But of Fox News he’s certain: The cable media giant is inherently biased and unfair.
“Of course” Fox is unfair in its attacks, he said, during a sitdown interview with Bill O’Reilly, host of Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” in a much-touted post-Super Bowl one-on-one.
And Mr. Obama didn’t shy from putting Mr. O’Reilly in that category of bias, either. CNN reported Mr. O’Reilly asked Mr. Obama directly: Am I included in that tag?
Mr. Obama’s reply: “Of course you are, Bill. But I like you anyway.” Mr. Obama also added, about Fox News in general: “Here’s what you guys are going to have to figure out [to stay successful]. What are you going to do when I’m gone?”
Mr. O’Reilly’s interview included grilling about Obamacare, as well as pointed queries about the Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attacks that left four Americans dead, and the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of certain nonprofit applications — those that contained the words tea party or patriot, for example. Those applications were held up, in some cases, for three years.
