President Obama called Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll Tuesday to congratulate the team on its “decisive” victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
The White House said Mr. Obama “commended Coach Carroll and his team for a great game, and expressed how exciting it has been to watch the team play all season.” Seattle defeated the Denver Broncos, 43-8.
During an interview before the Super Bowl, the president predicted the final score would be 24-21, but he refused to pick a winner.
The president told Mr. Carroll that he looks forward to congratulating him and the team at the White House in the coming months.
