DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Public Schools is hosting a teacher career fair to help fill nearly 100 new teaching positions.

The event is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Martin Luther King Jr. high school.

A majority of the jobs will be funded by Title I grant funding from the state Education department.

The district says applications are being accepted for teachers in aircraft, English and English language arts, food management, homeroom, math, special education, vocal and instrumental music, and world languages. Applications also are available for substitute teachers.

Applications must be completed online to attend the career fair.
