ANGOLA, Ind. (AP) - Owners of a proposed northeastern Indiana strip club blocked by city officials are taking their case to a federal appeals court after a judge ruled against the business.

Owners Alva and Sandra Butler say in court documents that they’re appealing the ruling by a federal judge in Fort Wayne upholding an Angola rezoning decision that prevented the club from opening. The Butlers contend the city unconstitutionally changed its zoning rules to block their new club.

Attorney Robert Keen for the city said Tuesday that under current ordinances the club could still locate at other places besides the shuttered restaurant near a residential area that was the Butlers’ first choice.

Angola is 40 miles north of Fort Wayne.
