HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Another looming winter storm is changing the opening day plans for Connecticut’s General Assembly.
Legislators were notified by email Monday that Wednesday’s planned session was being tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. And instead of the traditional noontime address to a joint session of the state legislature, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has now been invited to appear at 6 p.m.
Lawmakers were warned those times could still change.
The General Assembly is required to convene Wednesday at 10 a.m. Given the storm, a technical session will likely be held at the time, with only a handful of legislators.
Malloy is also required to provide the legislature with his proposed changes to the second year of the two-year state budget.
Both snow and ice is predicted to hit the state on Wednesday.
