CHICAGO (AP) - A judge has unsealed a special prosecutor’s report examining the 2004 death of a man following a fight with the nephew of Chicago’s former mayor.
Cook County Circuit Court Judge Michael Toomin unsealed the 162-page report Monday. Special prosecutor Dan Webb is expected to publicly release the report Tuesday morning.
The document includes details of Webb’s investigation into the death of David Koschman.
The 21-year-old died days after hitting his head in a fight with Richard J. Vanecko outside a Chicago bar.
Vanecko is the nephew of former Mayor Richard Daley. Vanecko pleaded guilty Friday to involuntary manslaughter. As part of a plea deal, Vanecko will serve 60 days in jail and 60 days of home confinement.
Webb led an investigation into whether prosecutors or police mishandled the case.
