Moscow police say they’ve arrested the gunman who entered a school and took 20 students hostage Monday, killing an officer and a biology teacher.

A second policeman was shot and injured, BBC reported.

The incident took place just outside the capital city, at a time when Russia’s government is fighting to sooth international fears about terror threats to target the Sochi Olympics.

The gunman is believed to be a student at the facility, School No. 263, BBC reported.

“The person who took 20 people and a teacher hostage is a student in the upper classes at the same school,” said a spokesman for the interior minister, BBC reported. “He has been neutralized, and all the students have been freed.”

Police aren’t clear what set off the shooter. He didn’t make any demands, they told state-run Russian television.
