SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Full-service emergency helicopter service has come to the Lower Shore.
The Maryland State Police announced Monday they will be marking the start of the operation this week.
Maryland State Police Superintendent Col. Marcus Brown will join Dr. Richard Alcorta of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System to talk about it on Wednesday in Salisbury.
The helicopter is a new Agusta Westland AW 139. It’s known as Trooper 4.
Pilots and paramedics who staff the helicopter have now been fully trained. The state police say they have started flying the new helicopter.
