JIM THORPE, Pa. (AP) - The remains of a woman found by firefighters battling a northeastern Pennsylvania brush fire have been identified.

Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnik on Monday identified the woman as 35-year-old Angela Steigerwalt of Tamaqua.

Jim Thorpe firefighters discovered the body on Saturday morning. The investigation is ongoing but Pennsylvania State Police said they are treating the case as a homicide.

Steigerwalt’s uncle, Donald Serfass, said his niece was last seen leaving work Friday at the Kraft Foods Plant in Lehigh County. Serfass said his niece was a hard worker and a loving wife and step-mother.
