MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Burke and DeVos families are putting a lot of money into the Wisconsin governor’s race.

Democrat Mary Burke cut herself a check for $400,000 in her race against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

Nine of Burke’s family members contributed another $87,585. That includes $10,000 from her mother Elaine Burke. Mary Burke is a former executive at Trek Bicycle Corp., which was founded by her father in 1976.

Walker continues to be the beneficiary of large donations from the powerful DeVos family in Michigan.

Rich DeVos, owner of the Orlando Magic and co-founded of Amway Inc., gave Walker $10,000. His wife, and seven other family members, also gave Walker $10,000 each, for a total of $90,000.

The donations were all given last year and reported Friday by the campaigns.
