NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The University of Oklahoma says a suspicious package found near campus is not dangerous.

The university sent out an alert Friday morning telling students and staff to avoid an area of Stubbeman Village near OU’s residence halls because of the package. About 30 minutes later, the university set out another alert saying the package was not dangerous.

It wasn’t immediately known what type of package prompted the alert. University operations are back to normal.
