PARIS (AP) - Brazil left back Maxwell has extended his contract with French league leader Paris Saint-Germain until 2015, becoming the third player to sign a new deal in the past week.
PSG said in a statement on Friday it has “triggered the 12-month extension clause” in Maxwell’s contract. The 32-year-old has played 91 matches, scoring five goals, since joining from Barcelona two years ago.
Blaise Matuidi recently signed a new four-year deal taking him through to 2018 and his midfield partner Thiago Motta extended for a further year until 2016.
Defending champion PSG, which leads Monaco by five points, is also in talks with Brazil center-half Alex over a new deal.
