WASHINGTON (AP) - The famously fit first lady says her “Let’s Move” campaign is not about looks.

Michelle Obama tells NBC’s “Today” show, quote, “This campaign isn’t about how kids look. It’s about how kids feel.”

The first lady says she tries to be a model for her two daughters and that she wants them to grow up as strong, healthy young women who see exercise as fun.

Obama says she knows that people focus on her own looks and what she wears. She says that’s why she tries to always stand in front of “something really important,” like children exercising.

The first lady says it’s even OK for people to focus on her shoes as long as the message doesn’t get lost.
