DETROIT (AP) - Three men are being sought in the shooting death of a security guard who intervened during a carjacking outside a CVS pharmacy in northwest Detroit.

Police say Thursday that the 24-year-old guard was shot once in the neck about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday as he ran toward two men who were driving away in the stolen car. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The security guard was alerted to the carjacking by a customer who saw two men with guns ordering another woman and a child from her car in the parking lot.

The car was found a short distance away.

Police say the two men and a third man may have been involved in an earlier carjacking attempt a block from the CVS.
