ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A purse-snatcher who mugged a 92-year-old woman as she left an Albany drugstore faces up to 14 years in prison.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares says Wayne Cole of Albany was found guilty Wednesday of assault and attempted robbery.
Police say he knocked a 92-year-old woman to the ground on March 30 and dragged her while trying to get her purse. The woman suffered a broken hand and a number of cuts and bruises. Witnesses intervened and later helped police identify Cole.
Security cameras showed Cole had targeted the victim and followed her.
Soares says Cole faces up to 14 years in prison when he’s sentenced on April 23.
