RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - An Irish company that provides power equipment for data centers is establishing its first United States operation in Henrico County.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe says Anord Control Systems is investing $950,000 in the project. He says Anord Critical Power Inc. will create about 70 jobs that pay above the region’s average prevailing wage.

Kevin Finegan, the company’s managing director, says Anord chose Virginia because of the quality of available real estate, access to a skilled workforce and the abundance of blue-chip data center companies in the region.
