BOISE, Idaho (AP) - The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by a Buhl woman convicted of first-degree murder in the 1995 death of her husband.

The Times-News reports (https://bit.ly/1dE8AZy) that the court on Tuesday upheld the 2000 conviction of 45-year-old Alisha Ann Murphy.

Murphy contended that a district court erred by denying her request for counsel after her conviction.

But the Idaho Supreme Court ruled Murphy has no right to post-conviction counsel.

Murphy received a life sentence after being convicted of knocking James Murphy out cold with a frying pan and then shooting him.

She has said she and her children, then 4 and 7, fled the house after a fight and James Murphy committed suicide.

But four years later, one of the children told authorities he lied about seeing James Murphy alive when they left the house.
