CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - Harvard says football coach Tim Murphy is recovering at home from a “medical issue” he suffered earlier this month.
The school said Thursday the 57-year-old coach is expected to return to coaching when spring practice begins March 31.
Assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Joel Lamb and assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Scott Larkee will manage the team during Murphy’s absence.
Murphy has been at Harvard since 1994 and is the winningest coach in school history with a record of 137-62. The Crimson have finished no worse than tied for second in the Ivy League each of the last seven years, and they have won seven straight over rival Yale.
