COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Some top officers from the American Bar Association are participating in a discussion in Columbia on the future of legal education.

ABA president Jim Silkenat is giving a keynote address on Thursday at the South Carolina Law Review Symposium at the University of South Carolina School of Law. That talk is free and open to the public, and Silkenat will be introduced by USC trustee and ABA president-elect William Hubbard.

Friday’s sessions focus on proposals outlined in a recent ABA Task Force report on the future of legal education.

Other participants include Barbara Madsen, chief justice of the Washington Supreme Court, and Erica Moeser, president of the National Conference of Bar Examiners.
