HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Huntsville fire rescue officials say two men who got stuck while repelling into an old well at Monte Sano State Park have been rescued.

Department spokesman Frank McKenzie said Thursday that the two men were unable to lift themselves back out of the well and a man who didn’t repel with them called for help.

McKenzie says the well is 225 feet deep and the men were stuck on a ledge about 150 feet down. McKenzie says the men were in their 20s and the rescue took about an hour to complete.

McKenzie says firefighters used a harness and rescue line to remove the men, and no injuries were reported.
