More snow: That’s the forecast for the Washington, D.C., region for Wednesday, with up to 3 inches predicted in spots dotting the landscape from Northern Virginia through Baltimore.
Weather.com put the chance for snow at 80 percent for the downtown area, with up to 2 inches projected for the city streets. Temperatures are likely to remain cold — 32 degrees a low and 42 degrees a high — until the weekend, when the sun will partially break through and bring more seasonal 50-degree temperatures.
“Into early Wednesday afternoon, light snow is possible from the central Appalachians and Virginia northeastward along the I-95 corridor to extreme southern New England,” Weather.com reported. “Also, some very light snow in the interior Northeast on Wednesday from a separate low-pressure center.”
And heading into Thursday: More snow and bitter temperatures will hit the Northeast, sweeping across Lake Ontario into upstate New York. About an inch of snowfall is predicted just north of the D.C. region to points north. A couple of inches, meanwhile, are projected for West Virginia’s mountainous region — and up to a foot in Syracuse, Weather.com reported.
