A Philadelphia teacher was arrested for allegedly selling heroin from his Nissan Pathfinder vehicle just two miles down the road from the Northeast Preparatory School that employs him.
Narcotics agents were patrolling the area and say they witnessed Paul Smith, 35, allegedly make a heroin deal from his SUV, NBC Philadelphia reported. When they investigated further, they say they found 25 packs of what they believed was heroin, two cell phones and almost $200 in cash, NBC reported.
Mr. Smith is married with two children and has taught history for almost a year at the prep school.
School officials are in a daze.
“I’m at a loss for words for this,” said Dennis Probst, an administrator at the school, in the local NBC affiliate. “He’s fired immediately. I will not have that person around my school, or around my kids, at all.”
