PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt is joining the Philadelphia Phillies’ television crew for 13 Sunday home games this season.

Schmidt is a three-time NL MVP who hit 548 home runs and led the Phillies to their first World Series championship in 1980. He played his entire career with Philadelphia.

Schmidt will work in the broadcast booth as an analyst. He has done some announcing over the years.

The 64-year-old Schmidt has been a guest instructor for the Phillies at spring training for the past 12 years. He missed camp this year because of health issues.

The Phillies also hired former players Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs for their broadcast crews this season.
