DALLAS (AP) - A former soccer coach has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for molesting two 9-year-old boys on his Dallas-area team.
A judge in Dallas on Tuesday sentenced 43-year-old Bernardo Mondragon-Guzman. The ex-coach in Garland, who was arrested in 2012, pleaded guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child.
The Dallas Morning News (https://dallasne.ws/N2WNgS ) reports Mondragon-Guzman received 35 years for continuous sexual abuse of a child and won’t be eligible for parole. He was sentenced to two 20-year terms for indecency with a child. The sentences will be served concurrently.
Prosecutors say Mondragon-Guzman gave the boys rides to and from practice and treated them to fast food and amusement parks. Investigators say the coach and the boys stopped at his house and he molested them.
