ST. LOUIS (AP) - When it comes to Mardi Gras, no city comes close to New Orleans. But St. Louis proudly hails its annual Mardi Gras celebration as the nation’s second-largest.
Preparations are under way for the Mardi Gras events in the Soulard section of St. Louis next weekend. The Grand Parade is at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The biggest concerns are partying that gets out of hand, people urinating in public and underage drinking. Police plan to use undercover officers to look out for violators.
The St. Louis Mardi Gras event annually draws thousands of revelers.
