RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin says the Republican Party can’t just point out problems - it has to offer solutions.

The former vice presidential candidate and possible contender for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination was the guest speaker at House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s campaign breakfast in Richmond on Tuesday.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1foZ7uT ) reports that Ryan told about 1,500 Virginia Republicans that people are well aware of the party’s disdain for big government and President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul. But he says not everybody knows the GOP has better ideas. He says Republicans have to show that they’re capable of governing and leading the country.
