LAS VEGAS (AP) - A jury in Las Vegas is deliberating whether a 61-year-old former hospital nursing assistant is guilty of sexually assaulting female patients in 2008.

Prosecutor Jacqueline Bluth said during closing arguments Monday that Steven Farmer used his position to fondle and sexually assault five women at Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/MYx4WT ) that Deputy Public Defender Jeff Maningo described Farmer as an innocent man who was falsely accused.

Bluth referred to 49 unaccounted-for minutes while Farmer took a woman from the emergency room to the seventh floor in May 2008.

The former patient testified that Farmer assaulted her with his fingers and performed oral sex on her.

The jury saw video testimony from another woman who said she was sexually assaulted. She committed suicide last year.
