Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is taking a much-needed break, film producer Harvey Weinstein told the Sun.

“She’s going to have a long break for a year where she won’t do anything. It’s been nonstop for her and she deserves a rest,” he said.

The Miramax co-founder’s statement comes after Miss Lawrence missed the BAFTAs, Britain’s equivalent to the Oscars, the New York Daily News reported.

Mr. Weinstein said the young star was in Montreal for re-shoots for “X-Men: Days of Future Past” when she learned she won.

Mr. Weinstein’s concerns echo similar statements by “American Hustle” director David O. Russell, who compared Miss Lawrence’s contract with the “Hunger Games” franchise to slavery.

“I personally think they should give her a bit of breathing room over there because they’re printing money,” he told the Daily News last month. “But she’s a very alive person.

“I’ll tell you what it is about that girl — talk about 12 years of slavery, that’s what the franchise is. And I’m going to get in so much trouble for saying that,” he said.
