MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Funerals are scheduled Saturday for the five children who died in a north Minneapolis duplex fire on Valentine’s Day.

The Rev. Jerry McAfee, who has been acting as a spokesman for the children’s father Troy Lewis, tells the Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1c6f5JT ) the funeral will take place at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Temple Church.

Lewis, who was released from the hospital over the weekend, will hold a news conference Wednesday at New Salem Baptist Church in north Minneapolis.

Five of Lewis’ children were killed.

The condition of one of the surviving girls, 9-year-old Shaca, was upgraded Tuesday, from critical to serious. Five-year-old Electra remains in satisfactory condition.

Fire officials said last week that the cause of the fire is undetermined, but nothing indicates it was intentional.
