BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Friends of a 54-year-old Butte man who went missing during a morning run last week continue to search for him in the Delmoe Lake area near Homestake Pass.

The Butte-Silver Bow County sheriff’s office suspended its search for Jim Ryan on Friday night due to heavy snow, which continued through the weekend. Undersheriff George Skuletich says the search may resume later this week if the weather warms up.

Ryan’s wife reported him missing on Feb. 19, when he did not return home from work. His locked car was found near the Delmoe Lake trailhead. Officials say Ryan is an avid runner and likely stopped to go for a run on his way to work in Helena.

Fellow runner Eddie Walker tells The Montana Standard (https://bit.ly/1gzNdL7 ) friends continue to look for Ryan because “he’d have our back.”
