VIENNA (AP) - Austria striker Philipp Hosiner has been left out of the national team for next week’s friendly against World Cup competitor Uruguay.

The Austria Vienna forward, who became the domestic league’s top scorer with 29 last season, was missing from the 23-man squad announced by coach Marcel Koller on Tuesday.

Hosiner has two goals in five matches under Koller but was first overlooked for a friendly against the United States in November.

Also missing from the squad were FC Koeln’s Kevin Wimmer and Freiburg’s Philipp Zulechner, who made their debut in the 1-0 win over the U.S.

Austria, which failed to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil, plays Uruguay on March 5 in Klagenfurt.
