BERLIN, Vt. (AP) - The state of Vermont is looking to hire 90 people to work at the new psychiatric hospital that’s being built in Berlin.

The first of two “jobs days” is being held Monday. The second will be held Thursday. Both events will be at 439 Industrial Lane in Berlin.

The jobs will help staff the 25-bed Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital that is scheduled to open this summer.

In addition to nurses with psychiatric experience, the hospital will be hiring mental health specialists and staff.

The mental health specialists will work one-on-one with patients and are trained to respond to both the individual patient and the unit environment.

Mental Health Commissioner Paul Dupre says the state needs the highest caliber of care providers for the hospital.
